I bought this mattress for my mom & dad as a gift, they absolutely LOVE it! My dad has sleep apnea, so he hast to sleep on his back and my mom has multiple medical problems, including an autoimmune disease that affects her muscle muscles, she is in constant pain. Both of my parents said the mattress is so comfortable that they are able to comfortably sleep through the night and their pain has lessened. They are thrilled with this mattress, and I am thrilled for my parents that the mattress has been so good for their health.

We purchased the Estate medium firm which we tested in the store. This is our third Sterns and Foster mattress but this new design is awful.
As soon as it arrived we called the store thinking, despite the label, they had sent us the firm in error as the bed was very hard. We were told it needed time for the top to release.
It's now been just over a year, it is still very hard and has developed deep body wells and I now have spinal back pain. We rotate this mattress monthly and even rotate a quarter turn sleeping on it cross-wise.
We have had an expert inspect it and the result is the wear is "normal" so there is nothing we can do.
We are looking for alternatives and will need to donate a near-brand-new mattress to find comfort. We are so disappointed.

We bought a CA KING Lux Estate direct from Stearns and Foster. It claims to be a CA King but is too short and leaves at lease 4 inch gap on one side of our bed! We never had this issue over the last three decades of using various brands in CA King size!

This is my second Stearns & Foster bed and I absolutely love it. What surprises me most is that it is even better than the first one I owned.
I bought the Estate Pillow Top soft in king size and from the first night I noticed an improvement in my sleep. I used to suffer from hip ache, but not any more.
I wake up fewer times through the night and wake up feeling great, rather than tired.
The mattress was not cheap, but it is worth every penny, I love it!
What surprised me most is unlike my first Stearns & Foster, I didn't have to get used to this mattress, it exceeded my expectations immediately.
And to top off my delight with my mattress, Stearns & Foster customer services have reached out to me to check that I am happy with my purchase and to answer any questions that I may have.
Buying from Stearns & Foster means not only getting the mattress, it is getting everything that comes with it too. My money has been very well spent, and I love what I bought!!

We had another name brand mattress for a few years, but it just did not give us the support and comfort we were looking for. We found this Stearns & Foster after trying many mattresses. We have had it for about 40 nights now and we both sleep better and wake refreshed.
While the top is soft and plush to the touch, when we lay one it that soft layer turns to support the curves in your body while the underlying firmness of the mattress supports the whole body. Overall, we are very happy and would recommend this mattress to anyone.

I have been sleeping well for 65 years on Stearns and Foster mattresses, and this year, 2026, was a time for an upgrade.
The first mattress was purchased by my fiancé and me at Fair Mercantile in St. Louis, Missouri. We bought a canopy bed frame to accompany the mattress and box springs.
We were stylin', let me tell you!
After a few years it was time to purchase beds for children and Stearns and Foster was our choice.
In early 1990 we were ready to refresh our bedding.,we purchased, you guessed it, Stearns and Foster at Robb and Stuckey in Orlando, where we now lived.
We have been always, so happy with firm and supportive bedding.
Come to 2026, and I received the Consumer Report issue of mattress and bedding "picks".
I studied and shopped for almost two months for new bedding, and in the process came back to Stearns and Foster!
There are many more choices in bedding today than years ago, to be sure, but the endgame for me was/is the names Stearns and Foster, plus the association with Tempurpedic.
I ordered the Estate Pillow Top Firm Queen and the Ease frame.
In two months now, I can fall asleep in five minutes and sleep well all night!
No surprise there, as that's always the way sleeping on a Stearns and Foster mattress has been, since 1960!
The Ease frame was a new choice, and the fact that I have an acid reflux issue made the decision a wise one.
I am faring well with the adjustable head of bed.

My wife had been requesting a Stearns and Foster for a while, but I was skeptical. I've had various types of moderately costly mattresses in the past, but rarely found them to be worth the price tag. I expected a similar experience here, but "happy wife, happy life" gave me the motivation to get this bed. My wife and I had returned multiple beds prior to this one. We tried gel, pattern mattresses, memory foam, nothing was even close to how comfortable this bed was. Once we got home, we have slept soundly ever sense. I would highly recommend this to family members and others.

My husband is 6'4" has back issues, we were visiting friends and slept over. He woke up the next day asking what kind of bed they had? Stearns and fosters is what they said. The next week we went and bought one. We bought this same mattress over 15yrs ago. Over the years moving we folded the mattress, which is a no no, but this girl stuck with us, the last two yrs, she needed to be gone, so we decided it was time. We ordered a brand new one and had to get the same one, because we know just how wonderful this mattress is. Worth every penny, and you will get your best sleep ever! Will never buy any other kind to sleep on.

I was told this product would be similar to the Cassatt ultra plush. It is not!! You melt and feel no pain with the ultra plush Cassatt. I believe this mattress doesn't have enough memory foam and I feel cheated. I would tell you not to fork out this much money when you can get more memory foam elsewhere for half the price.

Mattress is well worth the money. I had been sleeping on budget options for quite sometime before this purchase and noticed the difference immediately! The difference in quality and comfort is almost immeasurable; that is the level of improvement I have experienced from the budget, bed-in-a-box options in comparison. The only thing I would be weary about is my experience with Stearns and Foster customer service; saying the support was atrocious would be an understatement. My experience was so poor that I actually gave up on the "free foundation" President's Day offer when the originally shipped foundation did not fit up my stairs. After speaking to 3 different people, including their aptly named "triage specialist" I still could not get a definitive answer and/ or the matter resolved. My only advice would be measure twice to avoid having to return or deal with their customer service.

Compared to my first sterns and foster mattress this is a much lower quality.
I've tried to give it a few months to get used to it but if anything my disappointment grows.
It has very noticeable soft and firm areas..
It almost feels like I can feel the springs in a few spots.
I really regret buying it and wish I had my old sterns mattress back.

I've owned my mattress for less than two years and it has a small hole from the material unraveling. They said it is cosmetic and is not covered under the warranty. How could a mattress less than two years spring a hole. I've owned many mattresses and this has never happened. This is not a cosmetic issue, it is a manufacturer issue and they could care less to try and resolve the matter.

We switched to this mattress because the firm version was like a rock (neither are like the in-store models, and that's another issue). This mattress is soft in the sense that it breaks in within a month by sagging significantly, to the point where it feels like it's in tension due to the sag, which makes it noticeably not soft. I have tried so many pillows of different heights and densities to make up for it, and nothing has worked. It doesn't feel so bad when I first lie down, but I wake up an hour or two later unable to find a comfortable position. I am a man in my early 30s and in good shape, and I wake up about 10 times per night due to discomfort and always a notch in my back in the morning. Every single < $1,000 mattress I have slept on is substantially better than this, and at least on par with the firm version (I wish we didn't get rid of that honestly, just by comparison). Four months later and I'm still in disbelief. What even is a pillow-top? It just adds an extra 25% to the height, but for the firm was still rock hard and this "soft" thing still sags. Sleeping in the middle, by myself, is tolerable. Unfortunately, it's usually my partner and I in the bed, and thus we are both forced to sleep on a slope all night. I wake up in the morning very tired, but my sore back (its somehow both internal and external) gets me out of bed and I tell myself I will just have to take a nap on our couch during the day.
I have literally never given a bad review for anything before getting this mattress, but this is by far the worst purchase of my life.

Do not buy a stern and foster mattress, they will not honor your warranty. I have lumps all over my mattress and there is over a 2.5 gap in different places. A large hump down the middle. It started within months of buying it and now it's a little over 2 years and we already need to buy a new mattress . They are cheap not worth the money. Warranty does nothing.

This was a great King size mattress when we first purchased it. Within 2 years of owning it has a huge indentations on both sides and a large hump in the middle. We purchased the box springs at the time of the purchase. Purchased through Ashley home store but haven't had any luck with the warranty. Very disappointed in the product.

My Stearns and Foster PT soft is pure comfort that removes the day's stress from my body, and makes me happy that I found such a high quality mattress. Starting on the first night's sleep I felt my pain easing, and by the end of the week, was back to myself again and very grateful for my Stearns and Foster Pillowtop soft. I walked into a store showroom in a lot of pain (shoulder, neck, and back) caused by another manufacturer's mattress over the past eight months being told it "was part of the adjustment period". I've never even developed this kind of pain from being active at the gym lifting weights, swimming, and biking. Last month I went into a furniture store looking to replace this other mattress, but lacking confidence that I could find it. I'm thankful for the saleswoman who encouraged me to expand my options and consider the Stearns and Foster mattresses. My immediate reaction was, "my friend's mom has one and it's a super-expensive high quality mattress that's out of my price point". I was pleasantly surprised that the Estate mattress was in my price point. The quality was immediately evident. I'm super grateful for Stearns and Foster making such a high quality product that has restored my well-being! I tried some mattresses at a local store before I purchased from Stearns and Foster. I thought I'd like one of the wildly popular new mattresses like Saatva or Purple. But I found that I hated the feel of memory foam. This S&F inner spring mattress has a nice feel. It gives and pushes back when I sit or lie down unlike the memory foam that feels like flopping on a bag of wet sand. It's hard to explain but I highly recommend testing spring mattresses before just purchasing one of the popular foam mattresses online. It's a completely different and very comfortable feel.

We were looking for a firm mattress in originally purchased a Beautyrest Black. Was very disappointed with it and sent it back and replaced it with our Sterns and foster firm pillow top.
The difference is that with the beauty rest it was firm, but actually quite hard. After just a couple nights of sleeping, a divot formed in the mattress, which shouldn't happen.
The Stearns and Foster is firm, but the pillow top gives it a little bit of soft comfortable feeling. While the mattress does conform a bit to your body, The, divots in the mattress aren't quite as noticeable as with the beautyrest.
Pro tip: purchase your mattresses online directly from the manufacturer site. Delivery was a breeze, and you won't need to pay a large return fee to a furniture store. Wish I had known that from the start.

We honestly love the bed. So comfortable, and the best bed we have owned hands down. We had planned to buy another set. Not so sure now.
Price on our mattress dropped $300 10days after we bought ours. We asked if we could get a refund of that amount given how close the timing was. If it were outside of a month, we never would have asked. But, this I felt was different. Was told that they could do nothing.
I mentioned our future purchase plans. No response even though my email tracker showed them as reading it. So. Essentially Told to pound sand.

I made my purchase in November, received my mattress in December. Now it hasn't even been 90 days and my mattress is starting to sag. Customer service has informed me they can not replace it because it's my fault I don't have the proper foundation. What!?!? Very disappointed for the amount of money I spent thinking I was getting a quality mattress. Very unsatisfied and I will never recommend anyone to this product or buy from them again.

We purchased our pillow top mattress less than three years ago and the mattress is sagging already. We are very disappointed in the quality. Our previous pillow top lasted for over 10 years. The lux estate has not held up. When we measured the dip in the mattress it is two inches. We spent a lot of money for a mattress we are unable to sleep on.

I needed to get out of pain (both sides of my neck, shoulders, upper back) after trying to sleep for 8 months on another manufacturer's mattress. I had been to the chiropractor, too. When I tried the Stearns & Foster at the store, I just knew it was the right one. I had no doubt. Every night for the last week my pain has dissipated more and more because of my Stearns and Foster mattress. I'm just so happy that I can finally sleep all night and not wake up after a few hours with pain. The quality is wonderful and makes me happy when I'm changing sheets and seeing how well-crafted this is. This is the only mattress I will purchase again in the future.
